Maija Zummo, Founder

Maija is a lifelong Cincinnatian, who has seen the Queen City’s creative revitalization firsthand. She’s passionate about connecting craftspeople to the wider community and dedicated to helping grassroots businesses grow. Maija has served as a senior editor at the city’s alt-weekly CityBeat while also founding and operating alternative, independent publications like local women’s magazine A-Line, literary zine Milk Money and small publishing house Waxing Press. One of the driving forces in her life is to promote the work of Cincinnati creatives, start-ups and entrepreneurs in an inspired community.

Laura Katz, Creative Director

In addition to working with the awesome Made in Cincinnati team, Laura Katz is the Art Director at Cincinnati brand agency Zaptivity. She has worked with many brands in Cincinnati, New York City and Miami. Laura is also the Creative Director of Meatball Kitchen, a Cincinnati-based fast-casual restaurant. Laura has her undergrad degree from Harvard College and also attended University of Cincinnati’s DAAP program. She met her husband, Dan, while working in the fashion industry in NYC. Now they live in Cincinnati with two little boys, Asher and Tavi. Check out more of her work at

LeeAnne Galioto, Developer and Tech Genius

LeeAnne Galioto creates beautiful, user-friendly, responsive websites for individuals and businesses. She graduated from Miami in Oxford and from UT in Knoxville with her master's. In addition to writing code, LeeAnne is a classically-trained singer. Through music and web development she continues to expand the list of languages she knows: both spoken and programming. Her musical performances span a wide variety of venues; from the National Anthem at Mighty Ducks games, the Cincinnati Dinner Train with Queen City Sisters, to the stage at Music Hall with Cincinnati Opera. She lives in Cincinnati with her husband and two daughters. 

Made in Cincinnati is a proud recipient of a project grant from People's Liberty, a philanthropic lab that brings together civic-minded talent to address challenges and uncover opportunities to accelerate the positive transformation of Greater Cincinnati. People’s Liberty invests directly in individuals through funding and mentorship, creating a new, replicable model for grantmakers in other cities.
